Yoga Session

My only experience with yoga is what I've learned from about 4 years of Tony Horton's P90X, and my biggest takeaway is this - I can't do it.  I'm about as inflexible as a guy could possibly be; touch my toes?  I'm happy if I can touch my knees.  Definitely a different story for Brandi - she's a yoga instructor who approached me asking for some shots for her studio's website.  We did some indoor sessions featured here at the bottom but decided to shoot a bit more outdoors, too.  Yoga seems like it belongs out in nature, it's such a relaxing (yet, extremely strenuous) activity - I figured a nice grassy lakefront would be a good setting.  She ended up really happy with the results, and I think I found a new regular location to shoot at!

this hurt just to watch...seriously

Headshots, headshots, headshots

So Wedding Season is here, (ask anyone who's invited me to hang out on a Saturday), but weeknights can get boring without something to do.  Thank god for Headshots.  I set up a mini-studio in my living room with a gray paper backdrop and my two White Lightnings and it's been a LOT of fun to churn out some portraits.  Here's a few from the last few weeks - more to come next week!

Ronnie's getting into acting and wanted to have a few headshots to hand over to his agent.

Allie's been doing casual modeling for the past few years and wanted to have a few headshots for her own collection the next time anyone asked!

Brandi teaches Yoga and needed some unique headshots to add to her online profile.  We got a little creative with the shoot and plan to extend to some outdoor shots on the lake next week.  My shout out to Tony Horton for the inspiration on the lighting for this set!

Family Portraits - Beach Shoot

An old coworker of mine recently asked if I would shoot pictures of his family at the beach.  He just returned from living in Switzerland for a few years, I had no idea his family had grown so much!  Here are a few shots from the set.

Daughter & Pup Shoot

Time to catch up on some blogging!  These shots are from a Christmas card shoot back in December.  Parker and Mac were great subjects, I think they had a great time playing around in the grass.

You wouldn't know it from the pictures, but catching a moment when Mac wasn't going crazy was a slight challenge.

The cards came out great, they ended up writing a really nice review on Yelp for me as well.
